Languages & classes

11 questions
01I’m not sure which language to learn or where to go – what should I do?

KPV starts with an intake and assessment session covering your goals, abilities, interests and personal circumstances. From there, we advise on suitable occupations, markets and foreign languages – with a plan and specific milestones.

02Can I study online?

Classes can be held in person, online or blended, depending on the programme. The format of each class is clearly stated in the course schedule.

03Which foreign languages does KPV teach?

5 foreign languages: English, German, Korean, Japanese and Chinese – from foundation to advanced level, including conversation, languages for career goals and preparation for the relevant certificates (TOPIK, JLPT, HSK/HSKK, and German certificates as required by your pathway).

View courses →

04I’m a complete beginner – where should I start?

KPV begins by assessing your current level and needs, then builds a pathway around your specific goal (study, certificate exams, study abroad or employment).

Book a level test →

05How much are the course tuition fees?

Tuition fees are published on each course page and in the course schedule; for courses that do not yet show a fee, an adviser will give you the details when you call the hotline on 0866 214 579 or 0867 325 631. The Tuition fee and refund policy can be found in the website footer.

06How long will it take before I can sit TOPIK or JLPT?

It depends on your starting level, your target level and how much time you can study. KPV tests regularly, tracks your progress and adjusts your pathway when needed – an estimated timeframe is given after the initial assessment.

07I don’t know my level – which class should I start with?

We recommend booking a level test first. A KPV teacher will check your current skills and learn about your goals (conversation, certificate exams, study abroad, employment), then suggest a suitable class and pathway – so you don’t repeat what you already know or join a class that is too advanced.

08How long does a course last, and how many sessions are there per week?

Course length and the number of sessions per week vary by language, level and class. Details for each class are given in the course schedule or provided by an adviser after your level test; you can also call the hotline on 0866 214 579 or 0867 325 631 to ask.

09Can I learn Korean from scratch? Where do I start?

Yes. The Beginner 1 class is designed for complete beginners: you learn the Hangeul alphabet, pronunciation, greetings and how to introduce yourself. If you have already studied some Korean on your own, we recommend taking a level test so you can be placed at the right stage.

10How long do I need to study before I can sit TOPIK?

The time needed depends on your starting level, your target TOPIK level and how much time you can study. After your level test, an adviser will estimate your pathway and expected timeframe; TOPIK test dates are announced by the exam organiser.

11What level of Korean is required for E-8 seasonal work?

Korean language requirements depend on each recruitment round and are set by the receiving side; KPV publishes the specific requirements on the programme page once official documents are available. If you are interested, you can start with a beginner Korean class and book a level test for advice on your pathway.

Costs, documents & transparency

4 questions
12How are programme costs published?

Check the programme against the list of open programmes on kpvgroup.vn, call the hotline on 0866 214 579 or 0867 325 631, or visit the office at 30 Nguyễn Du, P. Trấn Biên, TP. Đồng Nai to see the licence, programme documents and cost table.

15How is the personal information I submit used?

Your information is used only for consultation purposes, in accordance with KPV’s Privacy Policy. You can request that your data be corrected or deleted via the hotline 0866 214 579 or 0867 325 631, or by email at [email protected].

17Does KPV itself send workers to work overseas?

KPV only carries out activities within the legal scope and licences that KPV or its partners are authorised to perform. The licensed organisation (if any) and the licence number for each programme are clearly stated on the programme page once official documents are available. See the Legal & transparency page.

18Can discharged soldiers and older people take part?

They can take part in consultations, ability assessments and training. Age and health requirements vary from programme to programme.

KPV provides information support during your employment within the scope of the contract and the law. The specific scope for each programme is clearly stated in the contract and the programme documents.

22How does a technical intern trainee differ from a seasonal worker?

The two schemes have different purposes, durations and regulations: internship programmes aim to give exposure to a real working environment, build professional conduct and gain experience; seasonal work means doing seasonal jobs in a receiving locality under a contract. Yes. KPV encourages families to listen and decide together, especially in the case of school and university students. You can add a note when booking or let your adviser know.

Level test

5 questions
26Is there a fee for the level test?

Information about any level test fee is given by an adviser when you book. After the test you are under no obligation to enrol – you will still receive your results and a recommended pathway.

27How long does the test take, and what does it include?

The test includes a discussion of your goals and the time you can commit, a listening and speaking check, and a short reading and writing task matched to your level. The exact duration is confirmed by an adviser when you book.

28I have never studied the language – do I still need a test?

Yes, you should still register. For beginners, the session helps the adviser understand your goals and the time you can commit, and suggest a suitable introductory class, so you don’t have to guess where to start.

29Can the results replace a TOPIK, JLPT or HSK certificate?

No. KPV test results are used only for class placement and pathway suggestions; they are not an official certificate. TOPIK, JLPT and HSK certificates are issued by the exam organisers in accordance with their own regulations.

30I live far away – can I take the test online?

The availability of online testing depends on the time and the language. Please leave your details on the Level test page or call the hotline on 0866 214 579 or 0867 325 631; an adviser will tell you which test format suits you.

Study abroad

28 questions
31Can I study abroad if I don’t speak a foreign language yet?

You can start from zero. At the Ability assessment step, KPV identifies your current level and the language requirements of the programme you choose, then builds a study plan with milestones that fit your application timeline.

32How does vocational training abroad differ from university study abroad?

Vocational training abroad focuses on a specific trade, usually combining theory at a school with practical training at a training centre or company; university study abroad focuses on academic programmes leading to a university degree. Entry requirements, duration and costs differ by country and programme – an adviser will help you compare options against your goals.

33What costs are involved in studying abroad?

Costs usually include the school’s tuition fee, living expenses, application and visa costs, insurance, air tickets and other expenses depending on the country; KPV’s service fee (if any) is listed separately. KPV publishes costs item by item for each programme, with the date of update and reference sources, so that families have them before making a decision.

34How long does it take to get the application documents ready?

The time needed depends on the country, school, field of study, your current language level and the application deadline. At the Ability assessment step, KPV identifies your current level and then builds a plan with milestones that fit your application timeline.

35What support does KPV provide after enrolment?

At step 6 of the pathway, KPV stays in touch and provides information support to students after enrolment, within the scope of the services KPV provides. The specific scope is clearly stated in the contract or programme documents.

36I don’t know any Korean – where should I start?

Start with the Korean Beginner 1 class (conversation – TOPIK foundation). Before being placed in a class, you can take a level test so that KPV can advise you on a pathway that suits your study-abroad or employment goals.

37What is E-8 seasonal work, and who can take part?

E-8 is South Korea’s seasonal work visa, which allows foreign workers to do seasonal work in a receiving locality under a contract. Eligibility requirements (age, health, language, documents) are set by the receiving side for each round and are published by KPV on the programme page once official documents are available.

38What costs are involved in the E-8 programme?

Each programme has its own cost table on the programme page: item name, amount, when it is payable and whether it is refundable. KPV does not collect any payment outside the published table; every payment is covered by a contract and a receipt.

39What TOPIK level do I need to study in South Korea?

TOPIK requirements vary by university and field of study (and may change from one intake to the next), so there is no single level for all universities. An adviser compares the requirements of your chosen university with your current level to build a suitable Korean study pathway.

40How can I verify a South Korea programme that uses the KPV name?

Check the programme against the list of open programmes on kpvgroup.vn, call the hotline on 0866 214 579 or 0867 325 631, or visit the office at 30 Nguyễn Du, P. Trấn Biên, TP. Đồng Nai to see the programme documents and cost table. Do not transfer any money before a contract has been signed and a valid payment receipt issued.

41What is vocational training in Germany (Ausbildung), and who is it for?

Ausbildung is a dual vocational training programme lasting around 2–3.5 years: theory at a vocational school and practical training at a company, with a training contract and a monthly training allowance paid by the company. It suits people who have at least completed upper secondary school, are in good health and are ready to study German seriously. Commonly recruited fields include nursing, restaurant and hotel work, mechanical engineering and electrical work.

42What level of German do I need to study in Germany?

Most Ausbildung programmes require at least B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference; some fields such as nursing, or some companies, require B2. Commonly accepted certificates are Goethe, telc or ÖSD. Complete beginners usually need around 8–12 months of intensive study to reach B1, depending on ability and study time.

43What costs are involved in vocational training in Germany?

Costs usually include: German language tuition and certificate exam fees, translation and notarisation of documents, assessment and visa fees, air tickets, insurance and initial living expenses. KPV publishes a specific cost table for each programme, with a contract and clear payment receipts.

44Will I have an income during vocational training in Germany?

Yes. Ausbildung trainees receive a monthly training allowance under their contract with the company; the amount varies by occupation, federal state and year of training. Trainees may also take on part-time work within the limits permitted by German law. The specific amount is stated in the training contract.

45Can I stay and work in Germany after completing my training?

After completing an Ausbildung, graduates may apply to switch to a residence permit for employment if they have a job that matches their field of training, in accordance with Germany’s skilled immigration regulations. The outcome depends on the application and the decision of the competent authority; KPV makes no commitment regarding visas, employment or income.

46How can I verify a study programme in Germany?

Check the programme against the list of open programmes on kpvgroup.vn, call the hotline on 0866 214 579 or 0867 325 631, or visit the office at 30 Nguyễn Du, P. Trấn Biên, TP. Đồng Nai to see the programme documents and cost table. Do not transfer any money before a contract has been signed and a valid payment receipt issued.

47What are the options for studying in Taiwan?

There are three common routes: full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study (many programmes are taught in English), Mandarin Chinese study at university language centres, and training programmes linked with internships at companies. Each route has different entry requirements, study durations and residence regulations.

48What level of Chinese do I need to study in Taiwan?

It depends on the programme. Programmes taught in Chinese usually require a TOCFL certificate (typically Level 3 or above) for admission or before graduation; programmes taught in English consider IELTS or TOEFL. Mandarin language programmes can be started from a basic level.

49Are there scholarships for studying in Taiwan?

Yes. In addition to each university’s own scholarships, international students can apply for Taiwanese government scholarships such as the Taiwan Scholarship (undergraduate and postgraduate) and the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (Mandarin study). Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic results, language proficiency and study plan; application deadlines are usually early in the year.

50Can international students in Taiwan work part-time?

Yes, once a work permit for international students has been granted. Under current regulations, part-time work is limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week during term time; there is no limit on hours during the winter and summer holidays. Working in breach of the regulations may result in fines and affect your residence status.

51How does working in Taiwan differ from studying there?

Workers go to Taiwan to work under an employment contract with an employer, through an enterprise licensed to send workers overseas or through the Centre of Overseas Labour; the main purpose is employment. Studying abroad means studying at a school, with part-time work allowed only within permitted limits. KPV advises you so that you can choose the route that suits your goals and circumstances.

52How can I verify a Taiwan programme?

Check the programme against the list of open programmes on kpvgroup.vn, call the hotline on 0866 214 579 or 0867 325 631, or visit the office at 30 Nguyễn Du, P. Trấn Biên, TP. Đồng Nai to see the programme documents and cost table. Do not transfer any money before a contract has been signed and a valid payment receipt issued.

53Should I study in Australia, the USA or Canada?

There is no single choice that suits everyone. The USA has many universities and scholarships but high costs; Australia and Canada offer good study environments, but their policies on international students and settlement change frequently. KPV advises you based on your family’s budget, field of study, English proficiency and post-graduation goals.

54What IELTS score do I need to study in Australia, the USA or Canada?

Undergraduate programmes usually require IELTS 6.0–6.5 and postgraduate programmes 6.5 or above; some fields such as medicine, nursing and teacher training require higher scores. If your score is not yet high enough, you can join a university’s English preparation course or foundation programme. Some US universities accept TOEFL or the Duolingo English Test.

55How much does it cost to study in Australia, the USA or Canada?

Costs include tuition fees, living expenses, health insurance, visa fees and air tickets, and vary widely by university, field of study and city. Generally the USA has the highest tuition fees, with Australia and Canada lower. KPV prepares a detailed cost estimate for your chosen university before your application is prepared.

56How many hours can international students work?

Under current regulations: in Australia, up to 48 hours per fortnight during term time; in Canada, up to 24 hours per week of off-campus work during term time; in the USA, F-1 visa students may mainly work only on campus, up to 20 hours per week during term time. Regulations may change and should be checked again when you apply.

57What does a student visa application for Australia, the USA or Canada need to demonstrate?

You will usually need an offer letter from the school, proof of funds to cover tuition and living expenses, an English language certificate, academic records and qualifications, a clear study plan and a clean background. The USA also requires an interview at the Embassy or Consulate. An honest and consistent application is the most important factor.

58What support does KPV offer for studying in Australia, the USA or Canada – and is the visa guaranteed?

KPV supports you in choosing a country, university and field of study, IELTS preparation, preparing your admission and visa applications, and interview practice. Visa decisions rest with each country’s consular authorities, so KPV makes no commitment regarding visa approval, employment or settlement.
